I am looking to use the private tagging functionality to label some of our threads for our moderation groups. I see that I can define, edit, and remove the private tags in the Admin settings for the community, but when I am on a thread, the Private Tags field looks to be freeform.

Is there a suggestive/predictive text method/option that can be used here? Can this field be turned into a drop down to select from the pre-defined private tags?

I am looking for an easy way to add this information to the thread and the private tag appears to be the easiest, but I also want to make sure we have some uniformity to the approach, and not a freeform, whatever I want label.

Sorry for the late reply! Right now, Private Tags are a freeform field. Sometimes browsers will remember the tags for you (depending on your settings), but beyond that there isn't a suggested text or drop-down option. I'm happy to submit a feature request for this, but I'm not sure when it might be incorporated as our engineers are working on a couple of really big things right now.

We actually recommend creating an internal taxonomy for your team, and then distributing the list of tags to everyone to use. It's not 100% foolproof, but we've found it helps keep everyone on the same page.
