Question Ki.

For a global audience, how can an English/French community share the same information if you have to go to different URL's?

Hi Jacob, could you please clarify what you mean by having the community share the same information? Were you expecting that user-generated content in both languages would co-exist?

Hi Radek, We do plan to add additional languages, but I'm not sure which ones or when. I'll work on getting more info for you about this.

So we're planning to make improvements to our core offering of Internationalization before adding additional languages. The timeline for all of this is not yet set.

How does it work exactly? If I have a community in English and I want french users for example to be able to understand what's been said in the different posts of my english community, do you translate it automatically in french? or do we have to have a 2nd community in french?

Also how much does it cost?

Hi there,

Thank you for your interest in our multiple language support! I'm going to share your questions with our Outreach Team and someone will follow up with you shortly.

Hey Anne-Sophie!

To answer your question, each language would need to be its own community. In our market research we found that most companies prefer having a separate community for each market/ language that they serve. Does that help answer your question? To enable language support, you need to be on either our Connect plan ($99 per month) or Enterprise plans (call for quote): www.getsatisfaction.com/plans

Please let me know if you have other questions and I can have an Outreach Team member follow up with you on Monday. :)

If we detect a user's language upon entry to our website, will the knowledge base, forum, etc. be shown in that user's language?

Second, internally, will CS agents be able to access all tickets, articles, etc. in all languages and assign within one admin console?

Thanks!

Hey Molly.

Thanks for your question.

Each community would have it's own language, so you could install engage widget modules from multiple localized communities on your site and then only display the ones that correspond to the user's detected language. That would require you to add some additional logic to your site to make that happen, though.

Each community has it's own topic management console, so the topics from all communities wouldn't be centralized in the web app, but employees from multiple communities can set up to be notified by email of every new topic and reply in each community they're associated with.

I'd be happy to have someone from our outreach team contact you directly to give you some additional details if you'd like. Thanks!

Hi Tatiana,

At the moment, we offer Get Satisfaction communities in the following seven languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Swedish and Dutch.

Is there a specific language you would like to put a request in for?

Thank you,
Amy

Hi Amy,

yes, Russian :) Though i doubt it will be there soon))
What if we leave out the tabs in English, can the people type their questions in Russian using our cyrillic alphabet?

Hi Tatiana,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you! As Amy mentioned, we don't officially support Russian or the cyrillic alphabet. People could definitely still type using the cyrillic alphabet, but I'm not sure how well the internal community search tools would work. I hope that helps!

Can GetSatisfaction switch between Spanish and English?

Hi Colin

Get Satisfaction does support localized communities, but, a community can not switch between languages. You can either have a Spanish language community OR a English language community. If you want to have support for both languages, you would have to have 2 separate communities.
