How can I unsubscribe from daily update emails?

Everyday I get this Yola Daily Update from Get Satisfaction email:

 

How can I stop these from coming to my inbox? I somewhat remember subscribing to these a while ago but I can't figure out how to unsubscribe from them. 

Maybe there should be some instructions on how to unsubscribe or an unsubscribe link at the bottom of daily update emails.

Hi Nathan - thanks for the feedback. This feature was never fully baked and as you pointed out, the emails themselves are missing unsubscribe links. For now, Ive gone ahead and unsubscribed you from these.

I've still been receiving these emails every day.
I don't receive all notifications from the IQTELL community, which I am supposed to be receiving.

I see you are following 6 categories in the IQTELL community, so you *should* be receiving email notifications when new posts are associated with those categories.  Additionally, I see you have elected to receive email notifications on *all* updates to the IQTELL community.  But I also notice that at the top of your email preferences, you do not elect to receive emails for some actions on posts where you participate.  Which community are the unwanted emails coming from?

Hi David,

As the original post mentioned, I am receiving the "Daily Update from Get Satisfaction", everyday.
There is no way to unsubscribe from these emails, and no preference that I see to turn them off.

I do not receive notifications for new topics in the IQTELL community.
I do not receive notifications for "every new topic and every new reply in IQTELL",
I do receive notifications for topics that I am explicitly following (normally because I replied to the topic).

This has been broken for several months already.

We did see that you were included in a "daily digest" email associated with the IQTELL community (not this community).  We removed you from that (it's an old feature we no longer support).  I also went ahead and updated your personal email preferences so you should get notified based on activity in your community:



The fact that the last three boxes were not checked might explain why you were not getting all the notifications you expected.  Please let us know if you begin seeing notifications and that you no longer receive the daily digest emails.

Hi David,

Thanks, I don't think your change went through, but I followed the screenshot and enabled those three checkboxes for my account. It seems to be working now.
I will let you know if I receive the daily update again.

Hi,
I receive loads of unwanted emails fom the photoshop familiy, even though i shut off any notification about any new topics - i did disable all other notofications as well - but still receive loads of emails i do NOT want - please help.

Do these emails reference postings in the GetSatisfaction Community for Photoshop? If so, each one should have a link you can click to remove yourself from following the relevant Conversation, though you will have to keep doing this until you have unfollowed every individual Conversation.

So disabling notifications from your GetSat profile should be a lot quicker, and it is well worth checking that these choices are indeed unticked.

But if the emails you are getting are from Photoshop, but not connected with their GetSat Community, then each should still carry an unsubscribe link you can click, and you should do this until they stop.

Continuing to Ignore your requests, if this is the case, is not something GetSat can do much about; however, the U.S. judicial system can, I believe.

Michael, it could be that you are receiving daily digest emails from the Photoshop Family community.  This is an old feature in the GetSat platform and must be disabled by us--we'll check on our end.  Sorry for the trouble!

I'm wondering whether the emails you're getting are actually from Photoshop Family directly, and not from the community hosted on Get Satisfaction? Tap/click your name on your posting to enter your Profile. The third heading along the top is Email & Notifications, and you can Subscribe/Unsubscribe from there.

Make sure after you change your settings that you click/tap the relevant Save; the one at the bottom can be a very long way down.

If you are receiving a Daily Digest from a legacy Community, you cannot unsubscribe this for yourself and you have to ask the good folks at GetSatisfaction to unsubscribe you, as in several of the postings above.

I take Bruce's point here. About every service I use lets me unsubscribe from a clickable link in the emails they send me, without me having to remember exactly where and when I signed up.

Even if there were just a link back to the relevant page in the user profile from which unsubscribing could be done, this would be OK.

Though I realise this means every email sent out would have to be different, and I don't know if this is the case now.

Pretty much. But does that just unfollow you from the specific Conversation, or can it do more than that, which is often want people actually want?

(Being entirely happy to get GS emails on Conversations I follow, I have never actually hit such a link to see what happens) :-)

In this specific case, the unsubscribe link from a topic reply email would unsubscribe you from just that topic.

I'm helping a friend with this problem. She has clicked [Ctrl-click] that link numerous times, and all she gets is redirected to the offending blog page. In this case

Then the hits just keep on coming.
I just tried it, too, and that's what I got. No functional unsubscribe option that we can see.

In addition to that, are we able to create a daily summary for a private community?

Hi Alex!

This is an older feature that is no longer part of the normal email notification options that are currently available to communities. That said, if we had a list from you of community members that wanted to receive either a daily or a weekly digest we could turn it on manually for those users in your community. Users would not be able to subscribe or unsubscribe themselves from this list on their own.

I had another question if you don't mind: will the daily summary only include the categories they are subscribed to? we have set up a Private community for our accredited partners and they are very keen on having a daily summary of the posts to that category. Look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Alex,

If it's for a private or public community, it would include content for the entire community. Not just for categories that they are following. We are not able to create a digest for only the categories that they are following (if you saw my original reply, my apologies for providing the wrong information).

I do think it's important to note that this is a feature we technically no longer support though. So it may not run as smoothly as it used to and may not work with our full current feature set. For example, one thing to note is that access controlled category content would not appear in these emails. If you would be interested in this, please create a new private topic here with a list of the users and we can get it taken care of.
