How do I filter responses in "Management View" to show all posts with Champion responses?

This conversation is no longer open for comments or replies and is no longer visible to community members. The community moderator provided the following reason for archiving: No further enhancements to management view will be made. Stats on employee participation in a community can be found in CHA, accessible from the Analyze Workspace.

I'm just trying to get a sense of how many of our champions are participating across different threads and want to total the number of posts with champion participation automatically rather than reading each one.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, you can use the username feature to filter topics created by all of your champions - you just need to know their usernames. To learn more about this feature, check out the product blog: http://product.getsatisfaction.com/20...

Hi Geysa, the filter option is a great tool and allows me to check in which DISCUSSIONS certain users have participated.

What it does not offer (and what I would be very interested in!) is the possibility to use the filter option in order to show (and extract!) all individual POSTS made by a particular user over a certain period of time.

Basically the current filter option is great to trace the involvement of certain users but in order to get a quick picture regarding quality and quantity of replies per user it is not very accurate.

Is this something you could look into in terms of new features and ongoing improvement? It would be an essential tool for us!

Many thanks and kind regards,

Donald

Hi Donald,

I think there may be ways to do what you need. In order to see all the posts a user has created, you can visit his/her dashboard and filter by "Show topics USER created in COMMUNITY". This will give you only the topics that the user created, instead of the ones the user created and / or replied to.

Another possibility, which is only available at the Integrate level) is to filter the Management View by the topics the user participated in, and then use the Excel export to filter down further by topic author email. Note that this option requires that the end user share his/her email with your community, which not all users do.

Do either of these methods work for you?

Hi Geysa,

Thanks a lot for the quick reply! I had no idea about the dashboard filter and it is indeed a good tool to have.

Unfortuately this is not detailed enough for my purpose. While I can filter for the topics that one of our employees has replied to (and extract them) I would also need the opportunity (using the Management View filter) to have a clear overview of ALL individual answers/posts made by a user within a particular period (rather than only finding the general topic in which he might have replied five times).

At the moment the filter would show me the topics a user is involved in. This means that in the excel extraction I only see that the employee has been active - I do not see how many comments he has posted if that makes sense...?

Are there any plans to enhance the current management view to also allow filtering for individual comments/replies per user?

Thank you so much for your help!

Best regards,

Donald

Hi Geysa,

Sorry for coming back with this old topic but I just noticed that when I filter my management view by a particular employee and then request the 'Download as Excel file' button it does not export the filtered threads of this particular employee but ALL community threads, even those which the employee had never been involved in!

Am I missing something here?

Thanks for some clarification..

Kind regards,

Donald

Hey Geysa,

Are there any news on this topic? It is very important for us to have a monthly overview / extraction for each of our employees' participation in the Community.

I assume that fixing this small bug would not be too hard?

Thanks again for all your help.

Kind regards,

Donald

We have confirmed that this is a bug, Donald. I'll file it as such and try to get it addressed as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we're working on delivering some major initiatives right now, so we might be able to get to this as quickly as we'd like :(

Hi Ki, thanks for the update. I appreciate that there are higher priorities but if this could be done in the near future it would be great as we urgently need it for our cost calculations... Thanks again for all your help!

Dear both,

Are there any news on this? Sorry to be annoying but this is a key feature for our use of Get Satisfaction.

Thanks and kind regards,

Oh no, you're not being annoying, Donald. I haven't forgotten abou this, but am not sure how soon it will be addressed. I know this would be an extra step, but you are able to sort your results by this field once they're downloaded?

Hi Ki,

I am back again... are there any news on this bug? Following another test today I still cannot export filtered results. Even if I try to manually filter after I have exported the entire management view it is not possible as most of the employee gaps are empty - the Management View does not seem to extract this information.

Also, Is it really so difficult to offer a Management View option that allows GS customers to get an overview (filter) of all INDIVIDUAL posts/comments that a particular employee posted...? At the moment I can only filter by threads in which the employee has been active - it does not show me whether this employee has only posted 1 or even 5 replies within one single thread.

To clarify my problem:

WHAT I WOULD EXPECT:

Selecting 'participating user'
Select 'Date range'
Select 'Type' and chose (currently not available) 'all individual posts'

e.g.: Our employee 'Vik' has posted 126 individual replies and I would like to be able to see all of them in the Management List, so that I can assess how many replies Vik has posted - for example - in January 2012 (each individual contribution)

WHAT I CURRENTLY HAVE TO DO:

Select 'participating user'
Select 'Date range'
Select 'All topics'

Under this system the Management View can only show the threads/topics that Vik has been involved in, which is 69 (against his total contribution of 126 individual posts). I now have to open every single thread to count his individual posts and to check the date of each post so that I can get a clear idea of how many replies Vik has posted in - for example - January 2012...

Come on guys, this should not be too hard to implement...?

Thanks for a feedback - I hope that 7 months have led to some movement on this...

Kind regards,
Donald

Hi Donald,

Thanks for writing in! Unfortunately Ki & Geysa are both no longer with Get Satisfaction, and I have no idea if anything has moved forward on this idea. We've gone ahead and shared it with our product team & hopefully will have some sort of update for you soon. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you!
