Daniel Foster and I had a great conversation about this topic on The Forge last week. We investigated how visuals and videos can really enhance the community conversation. In some cases, the average number of replies a topic will get goes up substantially just by adding a visual element in the first post.
Watch the webinar here to see how our conversation went.
I'd love to hear your experiences. Are you working with a game community? A product support community? Do visuals make a difference in the engagement you see?
Here are some visual assets we are building:
- A Pinterest board to quickly scan our enterprise communities
- A Clipboard board of all things tagged Get Satisfaction.
- Some infographics to talk about community management
Share your links! What is working for you?

The premise is that visuals can spark conversations in certain environments and situations, often better than text. What do you think? Have you seen that?
Like the premise :-) !
Yes I have seen people respond to my GS topics with images that but it seems too difficult for Thunderbird GS users who aren't geeks to post replies with images them. And having replies with images in them would help most support topics
So is improving the usability of uploading images to GS on the roadmap? LOL, you knew I had to ask the obligatory roadmap question :-) !!!!!!!
(or maybe it doesn't require a high falutin' feature but instead merely a step by step tutorial with screenshots showing how to upload images linked from "Add Image"?)
I love it. Nice pivot to the conversation.
You know, I am not sure what our plans are for adding pictures to topics. Let me have some conversations and let you know!
