merge ... "do you really want to" prompt needs opt out checkbox.

merge has changed to impose a "do you really want to" prompt. this may be great for a first time user or someone prone to make mistakes, but this is a pain for the seasoned triager who several merges per triage session.

Please add a checkbox so that allows me to opt out of the prompt.

Hey Wayne,
Changed this to an idea as I don't see this option there and to see what others think.
Im 50/50 on this as I spend quite a bit of time on the iphone and I like the pop up there so mistakes arn't made quickly using the small screen.
Still a toggle option should be considered I think.

thanks for changing the category. I am entirely sympathetic to the potential for mistakes, and the desire to avoid that.

Hi Wayne,

you mentioned that you do several merges per triage session. Have you considered using the bulk merge option we introduced last week (learn more here http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa... . If you're merging multiple topics to the same authoritative one, it may make your life much easier!

bulk merge got some good use last night.
Apart from some issues, it's a great tool.

Hi Wayne,

I'm so so sorry for the lack of response to this idea from Get Satisfaction! It's really not the way we mean to treat our customers & champs at all. I think that this would be a really useful feature, and I can very much empathize on needing workflow relief. But to be completely honest with you, it's just not on our current roadmap. I'll bring it up with our product team to see if it's something that they would consider, but for now I'm going to mark the Idea as "not planned" because I know it's not in our current plan. I'll update the status & the thread once I have a deeper conversation with them.

Again, I'm really sorry we've made you wait so long for a resolution. We will do better with communication going forward.

Thanks for taking this to the product team. And (with some cynicism) ask them for a gun - this is driving me nuts. It shouldn't work like this.
