My community has no admin stats this morning

Morning,

I know this happens occasionally but can I get someone to refresh my community's statistics this morning - they seems to be missing. Our company tends to do reporting in the AM on Mondays, and unfortunately this morning we're missing our data. If someone could shake the tree and help the data fall out that'd be wonderful.

Good morning!

So sorry to see this. I took a look and what I get is a stats view with days that have stats of 0. That doesn't look right from a quick glance at your community last week. I'll see what we can do.

Here is a topic update for you guys:

We made a quick targeted fix to get the data looking good on Tuesday. Last night we also deployed a long term server improvement to avoid this situation in the future. Thank you for the bug report!

My community, Mozilla Thunderbird, is also missing data for Wednesday January 18, 2012

Here is the status of the issue:

Our engineering back end team rolled out a fix that will work on all data generated from Friday, Jan. 20 on. The errors you are seeing are in days before the 20th.

Our team is also doing a re-generation of the data, per day, for each day before the 20th. This will take a few hours. Once that is done, your stats pages should be fixed for all days.

I am sorry that this keeps coming up, but we feel good about the long term fix that will kick in for all data after last Friday.

Happy Monday Jenn!

Seems like we keep meeting in the same place every Monday - perhaps I should bring coffee and scones next time. Same symptom as the last two weeks.

Update for the afternoon: We have a two pronged investigation underway.

1. Looking at re-running the data collection scripts for the days you see broken this morning.
2. Investigating why the fix didn't work as expected.

Still no stats today unfortunately. I wish I could give a better report. I know you all are working on it so hopefully we'll get an update today. IS it something about our plans or the size of our communities? (Roland's is clearly huge, mine's quite a big smaller)

Just hoping for a fix today!

Hi guys,

No, this is not community specific. It is a global process that is periodically failing. We are re-running to then populate the empty days, but we would ideally like the process to just run smoothly and avoid these zeroed days.

I updated the status because calling this Fixed is just not honest.

Roland, man I am homesick for the PNW (Seattle) so that coffee date is quite tempting.

No progress to report. We tried to re-run, but there is still work to do.

I heard from the developer that this is still under investigation. We have some parts of the issue understood and fixed but there is still an error that can periodically corrupt the data. We have been going in and running the task manually to re-populate after that error. And the dev said he did MapMyFitness first over the weekend, so that you would have something to look at when you came in. :)

Mozilla also looks good right now. There is still some risk of seeing this issue regress, but it should happen less often and until we fix the issue we are trying to keep on top of the data.
