In the desktop browser UI, there is a tab to filter the view of posts by Recent Activity. Please add this to the Mobile UI. The current view of Popular Activity is useless for Moderators, since it pretty much remains the same popular topics. We need to see the latest posts that have been created.

I agree wholeheartedly. I like the new mobile client, but if there isn't a mode for displaying the most recent activity, then it's useless to me as a moderator.

Thanks for sharing this idea. And totally understand what you mean. As you noticed, the mobile web app isn't designed for moderators. We focused the user experience on end-users first, so a lot of the moderation use cases (along with all moderation tools) weren't included in the design. There's a "Full Site" link that allows you to go to the full version of the website, so a moderator can always use that. We don't have any plans to add this in the near-term, but definitely interested in hearing more about what types of mobile moderation needs folks have. What are the top moderation actions that you think your moderators need for mobile?

#1 simply the ability to see the recent activity and post responses. That's where those answering questions spend their time.

I'd personally be happy for a long time with just having the ability to use the mobile client to post responses to threads I find in most recent activity order. For other changes I can go to the full site.

The one exception is the bug in the full site on an iPhone that prevents you from being able to use the "Share with employees" drop down past the first few employee names. Either that needs to be fixed for the full site on iPhone or that functionality needs to be added to the mobile client, or both.

Zak, This is great to know! That makes sense that the majority of action needed for moderators is just to be able to respond to most recent activity. Let me think about this as we start planning out enhancements to the mobile web experience.

Hi all,

I just wanted to second the motion for the Recent Activity view for moderators. The mobile version looks spiffy so far and I'd love to be able to use it to moderate from afar.

The only other view I'd likely use (much lower priority) would be the Management View from admin.

Thanks for your consideration and kind regards,
Derek

You're very welcome Caty and thanks for passing the comments to your product team. We really like using Get Satisfaction, and this addition would make it just that much cooler.

Kind regards,
Derek

Hi Cory, Zak & Derek,
I have good news I'd like to share with you!

If you have not heard, we are in the process of re-designing our community in a responsive format. In our new approach, we are building in "recent activity" as one of our initial views for topics of conversation.

Sidenote: If you are interested in testing out our new community, let me know by replying to this item and I'll get you set up.

Mahalo,

Sarah
Director of User Experience

What is responsive?
Responsive design is a way of making a single website that works effectively on desktop browsers and the myriad of mobile devices on the market. This new approach gives the best quality browsing experience - whether on a smartphone, tablet, netbook or e-reader, and regardless of the operating system.
