Interesting idea, but I don't think live chat is something we'll jump into anytime soon. Maybe waaaay in the future. Right now, we're really focused on archivable, reusable content. Live chat is a bit of a different ball of wax. But thank you for sharing this idea. If, at some point, we embrace this new direction and want to start the chatting, we'll let you know!

Let me know, too. Chat functionality, especially something similar to Facebook's implementation of it, would rock.
Check out Zopim for real-time chat. It rocks!

With Zendesk's new chat feature, I was wondering if any progress has been made on incorporating a chat function in GS - or with allowing Zendesk's chat feature to integrate with GS as their email system has been.

Hiya! I'd like to send SMS patient updates from within Get Satisfaction. Would also love to have an instant-on chat feature so I could answer client questions immediately without them going through the process of posting a message. Help?

Cazoomi (http://getsatisfaction.com/cazoomi) added Olark (http://www.olark.com) chat to their GS page.

Convincing/allowing an existing live chat company (Liveperson, SnapEngage, etc) to integrate would be great too.

+1 on supported SnapEngage. The alternative is that we have to display multiple tabs/widgets in our app which looks clunky.

SnapEngage is the easy choice. GS uses it themselves (that's where we first saw it and later signed up).

Are there any news on this topic? We would be very interested in embedding a live chat option in our GS community too. Any short- or long-term plans?

I can speak for a large portion of the Mojang community when I say this would be quite helpful. Sometimes it is easier to help someone directly or maybe you don't mind sharing your e-mail address with that one person but don't want everybody to have it. We also tend to engage in off topic banter when there are no new problems to deal with and feel like it's a bit ridiculous when we do this in a thread.

I had someone go to a forum site I use for computer problems because they have chat and private messages just so I could give him my e-mail address without sharing it with a crowd. It can be much more helpful to go back and forth telling them how to deal with a problem in chat as opposed to posting ten or more times.

If you don't want to implement chat we could at least really use a private message feature. Just giving my point of view on this one, let me know if you're considering either or both of these.

I'd love to chat with someone! As a matter of fact one of your agents asked me if I wanted to chat with him. I responded "Yes." and then he disappeared. Please contact me at [personal information redacted]. Thank you.

I have some news for you...he's probably not an agent.

Hi Charles,

Could you tell us more about this agent you spoke to? Did he say he was a Get Satisfaction representative or were you looking for support from a different company?

Thanks,
Amy

Since one of your agents offered to chat with me, I was more than willing. I joined this program online and it was rather expensive from my point of view. His website led me to your website. Everything I try to do with his programs (for advertising and sales online from your computer at home) costs more and more money.

So why am I telling you this Amy? Because there has got to be someone out there that can give me some great advice and leads so I can get started making some money online with my computer at home.

Amy, if I sound desperate, I am! On April 27th 2011, my house and two cars were completely destroyed. A tornado touched down right in front of the house and split it in two with the mother of my children and myself inside.

Around the exact same time I was informed that my job with the Sate of Alabama as a counselor/psychologist (for 25 years) was coming to an end in September 2011. They closed the institution.

I am 58 yrs. old and unemployed but I am determined to be successful in working online with my computer from home. This message you are receiving is no accident. I need some help from someone who is willing to help me get started in the right direction. Any kindness you show would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Charles,

Sorry for any confusion, but Get Satisfaction does not offer a live chat service. We are a customer engagement platform and we do integrate with 2 live chat vendors (Velaro and Citrix GoToAssist), but we do not provide live chat services ourself. If you can let me know the name of the company you were trying to talk to when you experienced the live chat agent I can try to find out more information for you.

Best,
Caty
