"Page not scanned" freeze on Firefox for Android
I'm running Ghostery 5.2.1 on Firefox 29.0.1 for Android (4.3) on my tablet, and when I click on the blue ghost and when an empty "Page not scanned" panel opens I'm unable to close the panel. Additionally the options button is ineffective. With the "Ghostery Options" menu item I can open the options over the "Page not scanned" panel but when I save the options the empty panel reappears. Closing et reopening Firefox don't change anything except I can access to the tabs for closing the Ghostery tab. Otherwise I have to uninstall Ghostery...

Hi Mozinet,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Do you notice if this happens on certain types of pages? or is it just random?
We'll take a look. -

You should check out our Beta Android Browser:

you also need to move the ghostery button. it is right next to where i swipe with my right hand which activates the button when scrolling. then when i get this same problem, which happens randomly, it ruins my entire browser session. it's happened enough now that i want to uninstall ghostery. otherwise it's a great service.

Unfortunately we don't have much control over where the icon is in the mobile version. One of the reasons for our own app > More control over settings.

make it smaller then. there's no reason for it to be as big as it is. i also noticed that, while scrolling, if you swipe above the icon it also activates the page. i presume this is the floating widget lagging at staying near the bottom of the page. this has happened twice just since posting my last comment. to give a better idea about the frequency of this problem

Same as all above. Kill firefox to fix tll next time. This usually happens to me when hitting it while scrollong. I have turned off the ghost altogether, but that means there is no way to pause blocking, which can't be done from the ghostery settings. Please make that available from settings, and the icon would not be necessary. Also, see if you ca prevent the ghost from growing on a zoom. It ends up covering a lot of the screen.

I suggest trying our Ghostery Browser for Android. You have a lot more control over al features.

This happens to me, too, on a very regular basis - three times this evening. The only option to recover is to kill firefox and start up again, having lost all your tabs. I tried the ghostery browser but there are features missing from it that are in ff for android (e. g. disallow 3rd party cookies). I also tend to use other ff addons, too, so using a browser which doesn't support addons isn't really ab attractive proposal. This is sufficiently frustrating that I would remove ghostery if a reasonable alternative were available; particularly since there doesn't seem to be any real interest in fixing the problem.
