  • Hi james, thanks for using Ghostery.

    We're currently redesigning the options and walkthrough to be more understandable to a n00b, but its a tough going =) Do you have concrete examples or advice for us?

    I'm

    e.g. sad, anxious, confused, frustrated kidding, amused, unsure, silly indifferent, undecided, unconcerned happy, confident, thankful, excited

  • How about aiming a little higher, and target people who at least have "basic computer skills," are comfortable using a browser, but may not be familiar with concepts like "invisible web beacon?"

    {You must be this tall to ride the Roller-Ghoster}

    I think you need to be very clear on your goals.

    Asking people what they want doesn't always work well: sometimes they either tell you what they think you want to hear, or have trouble imagining anything beyond what they've seen in their limited experience. If you're willing to spend some money, consider using focus groups where participants will agree to allow themselves to be videotaped using the product (in exchange for nominal compensation). You'll learn a lot by watching what people actually do (and don't do), where they get stuck, what questions they ask in the moment, etc.
