I have some other opera extensions: facebook notifier, which shows a number of notifications if any; Gmail notifier, which shows the number of unread email messanges.
Ghostery also notifies on the number of scripts were blocked (by the number in the RED square). So, when it notifies it every time, i must concentrate my seeing on red square everytime, because my mind intuitively thinks that i got some facebook events or new mail.
I really don't care how many scripts it blocks, more important is the fact of blocking. So it would be great to have an option to turn this RED notification off :(
Got my idea ?
Thanks for the wonderful extension!

The button badge is now optional in Ghostery 1.4.1 for Safari, released today. Look for this setting under the Advanced tab on Ghostery's options page.

The badge's color also changed from red to purple.

Hi PoMuK,
Which browser do you use? The latest Ghostery for Chrome switched to a purple color badge. Opera will switch to purple in the next update. Ghostery for Safari is stuck with red until Apple updates Safari's capabilities. -

I use OPERA. Here is Ghostery notification which is really annoying:

Hi Joe, what do you mean by "successful blocking"? All blocking should now be successful in Opera/Chrome/Firefox, now that Chrome's new detection/blocking technology has been implemented by Ghostery.

Got it. In a previous version the overlay would show green if all sources had been blocked, and the overlay would show red if some failed (I assume this is what it meant).
If failed blocking no longer occurs in Chrome I guess any color is fine. I liked the green 'all good' signal, but I can get used to black as well. Thanks for a great extension. -

It would be good to disable notifications at all, that's what i mean (not red or purple or etc) but not to show any notifications at all (or not to show any Ghostery icon in the top). To make an option for not disturbing the user on any additional information.
Please, make the option for this :( , it is really annoying. -

Hi -- I don't mind the little "ghostery" image on the upper left, but the numbers that pop up annoy me... can I correct to they do not appear/pop up? Thank you...

The red badge in the Safari version is distracting as it indicates a problem or something needing attention. I think the badge color should be less "urgent" / toned way down. It's very bothersome to the eye.

Basically, I've been trained over the years that a red blob with a white number in it means 'IMPORTANT, YOU HAVE MESSAGES'. So when I'm browsing with Ghostery enabled, it keeps tickling the part of my brain which thinks there's a message incoming.
An option for the red blob to be, say, dark grey-black with a white number on it would be fantastic. Conveys same information, isn't quite as eye-catching.
Cheers!

An option for a less obtrusive number on Ghostery Safari toolbar button.-
Hi Long Uninteresting Name,
Unfortunately, there is currently no way to specify a different color for badges in Safari. We plan on adding a toggle to disable the badge.
In the meantime, you could remove Ghostery's button from Safari's toolbar, and use the Ghostery items in the page right-click menu instead, if the badge is a bother. -
