Are they really blocked?
I've blocked several Bug sites now but am curious. When the ghost icon lists several sites tracking me " i.e example 8" and I click on the Icon to bring up the list their are several sites with the lines through them which are indeed the ones I blocked. Why does the ghost still list 8 if their blocked?

Hi John,
The number in Ghostery's toolbar button is currently always the number of detected bugs, independent of how many of them were blocked. Which browser do you use? -

Hi Alexel,
thanks for getting back so quickly.
I use Safari for my browser.
So how does the blocker progam work? When I block an online info blood sucking company does that mean they aren't able to collect data from my searches anymore?
I can't tell you how much I like this program. I was shocked when I clicked on NBC news and saw 25 bugs pop up in the icon. Its really disturbing to see that many vultures circling wanting a piece of my info. Thanks for making this available. My brother will probably be signing up soon, as well as his wife and a few of his friends. -

Cool, thanks for using Ghostery!
When Ghostery blocks a page element, the element does not load, which means it doesn't take up any bandwidth, can't record your visit and can't read or write cookies.
Here is a previous discussion of pros and cons of blocking: http://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery/t... -
