I am running Ghostery in Firefox. Starting about 4/25 one of the Internet Brands sites I use daily started losing functionality as it appears Ghostery is now blocking a gif that makes a necessary link/icon disappear.
Everything worked fine until about a week ago.

Hi Doug,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Can you send me the URL so I can take a look? Which version of Firefox and Ghostery are you using? -
-
Firefox 20.0.1 and Ghostery 2.9.4
URL's are basically any page in the forum section on ModelMayhem,
For example the mms.ibsrv.net/images/last2.gif is used as a link to take you to the last page of a forum post... with that gif being blocked, you have no link to click. -

If you unblock InternetBrands tracker does that bring the functionality back? if so..you can selectively whitelist the tracker. If not... have you tried whitelisting the URL?
-

Yes, using the slider for the entire class/label of InternetBrands does bring the functionality back.
However white listing the entire site means other things may make it though.
Are you saying I can whitelist just the specific files and leave the rest of the filter for that provider functional ?- view 1 more comment

yes.. this is the site-selective whitelisting feature.. just push the slider next to that one tracker.. that will allow it on that site and continue to block the rest.

Yes, I figured that feature out... my point/question is, HOW can a user still filter a site but ALSO allow selected items from that server NOT be blocked.
There SHOULD be some way for me to allow the harmless but essential files to be whitelisted/exempted from filtering, while still allowing trackers or whatever from the same site to still be blocked.
The site claims they are clean and that the blocked files are clean, yet Ghostery somehow seems to have decided to blacklist them.
As the user, I'm stuck in the middle, and what is the point of running Ghostery if I need to turn it off for an entire site? -
