BECOME REDUNDANT.. NEEDS REVAMP.

Nowadays Ghostery is not seen to block any cookies. The cookies clog my net-access and fillsup my RAM making my computer and net-access very slow and annoying.. I feel Ghostery has become either outdated or redundant..

    Except for the Firefox product, Ghostery doesn't deal with cookies directly. It does let you block elements that create and manipulate them (which can result in significant performance improvements).

    Cookies rarely slow things down. Blocking first-party cookies may cause problems with sites that use particular types of load balancers, resulting in noticeable slowdowns or, in extreme cases, inability to connect at all.

    Cookies shouldn't significantly affect RAM usage.

    Web browsers impose limits on the number of cookies you can accumulate and the amount of information they can store. They also provide controls that let you apply additional restrictions. Extensions can supplement the functionality that's already built into your browser, but they're not intended to replace it.
