For the last few updates, when there are new trackers added to the list, they are not automatically blocked. The user has to open Ghostery options and click on "All" again to start blocking the newer trackers. I would expect that most users are not doing this, and so are not fully benefiting from the update. This behavior is observed with Firefox 3.5.x on Windows 2000.
It would be nice to have a checkbox allowing the automatic blocking of all newly added trackers.
And thank you for doing so much already!

If you use Firefox, you can tell Ghostery to block incoming trackers by going to Ghostery's options page, marking "Block new elements by default" under the Advanced tab and saving.
This option is on the way for all other browsers.

My apologies if this is a duplicate; I did try to look.
There are a few trackers (mostly google) which I trust enough to leave unblocked. Some of them, like google+, are necessary for certain google-using pages to work.
When the library updates, you can easily block everything, or you can click every single new tracker manually. Or you can block everything and try to remember which trackers you needed to keep unblocked.
Is there an easier way? Perhaps a checkbox somewhere that says "block all new entries" rather than "block all entries"?

After ghostery updates itself, I have to go into the options and do "select all" on cookies and trackers.
please include a check-box or something so that users who want all cookies and trackers to be blocked do not have to do this after updates.
Please correct this annoying phenomenon and implement this missing feature!
Thanks!

feature request - auto "select all" for cookies and trackers after updates.-
Hi Omer,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
In the advanced tab, you can select "Block New Elements by Default". This will make it so whenever Ghostery updates the library you are automatically blocking the new elements loaded.. be sure to click "Select All" and save as well. -

It seems that each time there's a few new additions to the tracker list, I have to choose 'select all' again. Once I've selected 'block all', I should not have to select it again if new items are added to the list. Can 'block all' be made to block everything, all the time automatically? I don't know why it's up to me to keep checking the controls to make sure everything is blocked. Thanks.

I have actually had similar thoughts, that even if it is selected if it sticks in Firefox? As I've seen it on a couple systems where it'll install a few updates and then you check and see that several dozen aren't blocked, even though I could have sworn that it was set under advanced settings. But, maybe I overlooked it at the time, during other maintenance/...

How to auto-block new bugs added via auto-update?.
When I receive an auto update to the blocklist, it appears that new entries are not automatically blocked. This means, to ensure I'm blocking all bugs, I either need a notification that new bugs have been added (and need to be blocked), or I need a way to specify that when I click "block all" this setting includes new bugs as they are identified. I'm using Chrome Version 30.0.1599.101, Firefox 24 and Safari Version 7.0 (9537.71) on OS X 10.9 and your browser on iOS (not sure yet if this issue applies to iOS).
Great product; I'm a long time user and proponent. Thanks! -

If set to "Block all", Ghostery should automatically block any newly found tracker as well..
I installed Ghostery half a year ago, selected "block all" a never bothered to look at it again. Now I opened the prefs again and it was not longer blocking everything. What happened?
