The links in the family tree feature in Ancestry.com do not function when Ghostery is active. Adding that site's tree URL to the pages Ghostery excludes solves the problem.
It took me a while to figure out the problem.

There are many websites that do not function when Ghostery is turned on, some of them start to function after a while. I used to turn Ghostery off every time I wanted to use my bank's website, then one day it just worked.
If the website is designed correctly then blocking trackers should not hinder it. Maybe you should inform Ancestry.com that their site is broken. If you want to be helpful try localising the problem, by blocking one tracker at a time to find the one that causes the problem.-
quoddyloop January 22, 2011 03:05I tried blocking one web bug at a time, but it didn't solve the problem. Only when I blocked Ghostery from checking the site did it work normally. It appears to be an incompatibility with Flash on the page.EditDeleteRemove

In general flash works fine with Ghoestry, inform the website and let them solve their problems.

so r u saying this cannot be fixed in ghostery? some poeple, like my wife, use macs - I could say cause they dont understand computers but i wont - and have no clue about flash, java, etc. they just know that when i put ghostery on their computer, their computer no longer works right and so that is a bad thing. She already found ancestry doesnt work, she cant order her prescription drug refills at rite aid anymore, and other anomolies are beginning to stack up.... I understand it may be hard to fix this, but it is worth try I believe since ghostery seems to have good value! but if the bottom line is you the programmers of ghostery says it cannot be fixed (never say never?) then it must go imho.....

Hi kingone1,
The best workaround whenever you run into pages broken by Ghostery's blocking for now is to tell Ghostery to not block on those pages, and reload. This way you'll still have blocking elsewhere.
The steps for exempting a page from blocking (whitelisting) vary a little between the different browsers. Let me know if you need any help.
