Is there a way for you to add a block on video's automatically playing?
It is becoming more, and more common for websites to have embedded video's that start as soon as someone loads a page, which sucks up my bandwidth.
Most of the time I just want to read the story, not watch the video.
Thanks! You have a great applet!

Greetings Kanichiro,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
If you use Ghostery's Click-To-Play feature it should prompt on most video players to start the stream. If not, please send me a link so we can check it out and look into adding it to our list. -

Hi Pete,
Click to Play was checked. I verified this before replying to your post.
Here is a link to a site that has auto-plays video's. There are others, but this is one that came to mind first. As I said in my original post, I am finding this happening more, and more often on the web. It is very annoying!

Thanks for the link.. I'll forward it on to see what we can do..

Yes. This ability is built into Firefox itself, and doesn't require Ghostery (or any other extension). Unfortunately, it's a little complicated, because there's more than one way to embed video on a page. Also, Mozilla's under a considerable amount of pressure from web advertisers and content providers not to make this too easy, so you'll have to jump through a few hoops.
The first step is to enable Firefox's Click to Play preference (plugins.click_to_play). Here's a pretty straightforward set of instructions:
That was sufficient up until Firefox 23, when Mozilla erected another hurdle.
Finally, there's one other preference, media.autoplay.enabled, that applies to pages using HTML5 video. You'll want to make sure that one's set to false.

Hi Eric,
I followed your instructions, and it worked. The annoying auto-play video's, no longer autoplay!
Much, much, appreciated. -
