Greetings!
Thanks for using Ghostery!
When you went through the Set-up wizard.. did it not say "Welcome to Ghostery for Internet Explorer version 3.0.0"? or are you going by your control panel information? (Ghostery IE - Evidon Inc, Product version: 1.26.152.152)
After the install you are required to restart IE. You will see "Ghostery is loading". if you click the "X" in your address bar and then the refresh icon next to the "X" the setup wizard should start. You are also required to restart your browser after the wizard.
After that restart you should see the icon in the top right of your navigation bar.
Let me know if that helps. -

Hi Pete --
I get the "Ghostery is loading" page but it just hangs. I tried clicking the X and refresh, as you suggested, but the page just flashes and resumes hanging.
Activex is enabled, so it's not that.
Any ideas what's wrong?

hmm.. the refreshing the page should have brought up the set-up wizard...
can you try typing in:
www.ghostery.com/addon/options < see if that opens the options menu.. if it does.. top right you will see the option to try the Configuration wizard.. click through that and then restart your browser.
See if we get this far.-
I should have asked.. What version of IE are you running?

Hi Pete --
That didn't work either. I continue to get the hanging "Ghostery is loading" page.
I'm running ie 9, which is the most recent release for Vista.
Thanks!

shoot me an email at support@ghostery.com and we can work through this a bit easier.. I'll post the findings so if others have this issue they can find this thread.

I'd prefer to deal with the problem on this site, thanks.
The problem I'm having with the "ghostery is loading page" appears to me to be a denial of service.
Also, I'm having a lot of trouble logging in, and a message identical to this that I posted about an hour ago has disappeared.
And, after I used Firefox to visit the ghostery site, I found my options settings had been changed.
I know you've been real busy, Pete -- lots and lots of answers to other questions by you since I posted the message that disappeared -- but I'd appreciate it if you'd explain, or get a colleague to do so.
Also wondering why the recent activity button shows 0 new posts today now, but showed 6 when I posted my comment earlier this evening?
