Can't download to Chrome. Keeps saying "checking..."

Hi Jessie,

Which version of Chrome do you have? Are you downloading from the Web Store? Are you able to install other extensions?

MacOS 10.7.4
Google Chrome 18.0.1025.168
Yes from webstore.

It does appear that I'm having trouble downloading another privacy extension.

I will update chrome now and re-try and get back to you in 2 mins. Please hold...

So you can't install any extensions from Web Store? Do you have anything, like a hosts file entry, that blocks Google Analytics?

Ghostery wont instal on Chrome, just keeps giving me a checking message when i click add. It works fine on FF though

Which opens a child window "Ghostery" When I click the blue "add to Chrome" button in the top-right, a "confirm new extension" window appears. I click on "add" and it closes, returning me to the Ghostery app window. The top-right button changes from "Add" to "Checking". Waited for 15 minutes before giving up. At no point does Ghostery appear to install or show up in Extensions.
