How do enable or disable whitelisting on the fly like I could do before the interface was changed? Now there is only a button to whitelist a site, but once it is whitelisted the button doesn't change to enable you to stop the whitelisting. Now it appears I have to go to the Options page to remove a site from the whitelist.
Being able to temporarily whitelist a site and then remove it from the list is very valuable. I have often encountered sites where blocking particular cookies disables some of the functionality. Being able to whitelist the site in just that case is often useful, but I want to be able to remove the whitelisting just as easily.
Make it more clear how to unwhitelist / resume blocking on the fly in the findings panel

We plan on improving the contrast between regular and pressed button states, as well as adding a checkmark or a dot to emphasize pressed/active state.

Hi Peter,
When you click Whitelist Site (or Pause Blocking) in the new panel, the button becomes and stays pressed to indicate "enabled" state. To undo site whitelisting, click the same button again.
Sorry for the confusion. -
-
Maybe you can also change the text to read "Undo Whitelist" or something like that to make it more obvious. I believe the button text changed before based on the state of whitelisting, yes?
-
That's another possibility, thanks.

Hi,
I have whitlist a site. I want to test a temporary "un white list" this site.
I go on the new Ghostery interface, clik on the "Whitelist Site" buton, Reload the page. The site still always in the white list.
Do you have any idea ?
Regards,

Unable to remove a site from the white list.-
Hi Michel,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Which version of Firefox and Ghostery are you using? You can also remove URL from your whitelist by going to your blocking options library > Site Whitelist tab > Click the URL > Remove > SAVE.
Hope that helps! -

Hi Pete,
With the "site Whitelist tab" it's work.
It's with the "ghostery quick panel" and the buton I have a problem.
OS : Windows 7
FF : 21.0
Ghostery : 2.9.4
Thanks -

When blocking is paused, change the label on the button in the pull down menu that is labeled "pause blocking" into "resume blocking" for increased clarity that blocking is paused and can be resumed.

Ok. I just posted this topic here as idea feedback

and before I can even answer the question or provide more info, the topic was closed for whatever reason ( misread by whoever responded ? )
It was a legitimate idea for improvement. I have Firefox 18 with Ghostery 2.9.5. The bottom left of the new Ghostery panel has a button that says Pause Blocking. While Ghostery is paused, it would be desirable to see it labeled Resume Blocking.
Ghostery appears with its new menu as in the screenshot as here.

Note the button in the bottom left. It says Pause Blocking and there is no visual change/feedback there while it is paused. That's where I think it would be nice to have it change to Resume Blocking.

Label the button "pause blocking" as "resume blocking" when blocking is paused..-
The Pause Blocking and Whitelist Site buttons are shown as indented (or pressed) when activated.
We agree that current visual cues are not clear enough. -
-
I understand the buttons are shown as intended, but the inverted blue color is indeed not enough of a cue, hence the idea of alternating the label "pause" and " resume"
Maybe do something additional with "orange" for caution, and green for "good/enabled". -

how do you take pause blocking off?.
I do not like the new ghostery. after I pause blocking, I cannot block again. it still only presents a button that still says pause blocking......ie, there should be a blocking on button after blocking is paused. want the old ghostery back, PLEASE.-
Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the feedback. We have the Icon set to different colors when paused.. Also, the panel says "Blocking is Paused". We are looking in to ways to make the panel more user friendly. We will take your feedback to heart.
Happy browsing! -

v5 : when you pause blocking - the 'pause blocking' button ought to change to 'start blocking'.
Mac/Safari/Ghostery 5 : click on Ghostery toolbar button & choose 'pause blocking'. To start blocking again, you have to press 'pause blocking' again, even though already paused. Could that not change to 'restart' or 'continue' ?
I realise that a 'pause' icon often pauses/restarts web players & devices, and that the button does dim to show it's paused... but it isn't clear - a red/green and/or change of wording would be much better. -

"Pause Blocking" & "Whitelist Site" should be more obvious..
Would be useful for Safari Toolbar Icon to visually show blocking is Paused, maybe count could be Green instead of Red. Also "Pause Blocking" & "Whitelist Site" buttons are too subtitle when pressed, needs Slide Switch or Color Change.-
Hi Mark,
Unfortunately, we can't change the color of the toolbar button or badge in Safari.
We plan on making Pause/Whitelist buttons more obvious in a future update. -

Turning off pause feature..
When I turn on pause I cannot find a way to turn it off again to allow blocking to continue.-
Hi Maggie,
To resume blocking, press the same Pause Blocking button again. The button is meant to become visually "pressed" or "active" when clicked. We plan on making this more clear in the future. Sorry for the confusion! -
