Complete German translation?
What about a complete German translation? I would like to help for sure. There are currently a lot of strings in English and I think it could help Ghostery to find more German users if it was translated completey.

Ghostery is now fully translated in German, as of the 5.1 release. Please let us know of any issues.

1I think there are only three places you need to look:
chrome://ghostery/content/ghostery-translator.js (search for de-DE)
chrome://ghostery/locale/ghostery.dtd *
chrome://ghostery/locale/ghostery.properties *
* Since I use an English-language system, I had to go into about:config and change general.useragent.locale to de-DE and intl.locale.matchOS to false to see these.

1Hi guys. I haven't found much time the last two weeks but have been working already on a full translation. I guess I will send it over anytime in the next days.
Just a few questions:
1) Is it correct that only ghostery-translator.js is used?
2) There are still some strings not available for translation in the mentioned files (e.g. "in the" ... "corner" in the settings dialogue for the alert bubble or the javascript answer for the update of the bug list)

Hi joerg, thanks for doing the translation.
1) ghostery-translator.js contains all the strings for HTML pages Ghostery uses -- Options, Block Log, and Walkthrough (eventually, across all browsers), tho DTD and properties file needs to be looked into as well.
2) Please let me know which ones so I can externalize them as well. -

Another question: What is 3pe? Seen in walkthrough.desc.notification.1. Never heard of it before.

Heh, 3pe == third party "tracking" element. 3pe is the acronym Ghostery uses, pronounced: tree-pee.

Hi team. In 2.6.1 beta the German translation has changed but it's even worse than in 2.6.0.1. I have sent over my own translation some days ago and I would prefer to see it in the next version. I guess you have your reasons and I think if there is another translator it wouldn't make much sense to have two or more people actively working on it. It took me a lot of time to improve the former translation and I will continue using it in Ghostery anyway. In case you still need my help I would be glad to support you.

Could you add a form on your website so users can submit translations? Even better would be a Github repo so users could perform translations and submit pull requests to the core team.

I'm missing the menu entry to block all trackers at once. If there are 5 trackers then I have to block them one by one by myself.
And a function to autoblock every tracker. I've seen pages where a tracker pops up and then it's gone so fast I can't even see whats going on.
Oh, another thing, when is Ghostery going to multilingual? I'm from germany and the menu and the settings are half german and half english.

We're in the process of completing a fully translated version of Ghostery in all browsers (with German being one of the languages), to be followed by us making it easier for the Ghostery community to correct translations/translate Ghostery into new languages.
I'll update this thread when there is news. Sorry we're not there yet, and thanks for your kind offer! -
