After installation, the Ghost icon sometimes is grayed out, and cannot be turned on, even though the current webpage at the time was on on whitelist. This was a page on Google Chrome.
I continue to have crazy and intrusive pop-ups.

Hey There,
Thanks for reaching out!
Please be aware.. Ghostery is not an adblocker. We block scripts. Sometimes those scripts are embedded in the advertising, but its not a total solution. That being said.. Can you send me the URL you are seeing issues on?
Also.. browser and Ghostery version would be helpful to know.
Thanks! -

Hi Rat Co-- have the same pop-up problem both on Firefox and IE9 my two browsers. So far, have not found one solution to all the variable and annoying advertising tricks being used now.
Hey Pete...I'm glad you told us that Ghostery is not an adblocker...I thought it was also. I don't understand "scripts" and the difference between them and all the new techniques being used for advertising now. Am I just getting "old" or what? ha ha Catlover-
there are pieces of code on the page that do "something".. most are collecting some sort of data on you in order to better target you ads. Sometimes these scripts are embedded in the ads or videos or commenting/social widgets. Blocking these scripts do more for you in regards to data privacy then blocking the ads.
