Disqus completely unusuable
As has been reported many times here, your tool negatively impacts the functionality of Disqus. I've excepted Disqus from blocking AND I've added it to your 'whitelist'. Additionally, it is given an exception in my browser (Firefox 13.0.1). Still, I am unable to login. Amazingly, when I remove Ghostery, everything works fine, which is how I will be running from now on.

Hi cmcdannold,
I'm sorry for your experience... Ghostery should not negatively impact anything that our users are not blocking. This is true for all the elements in the library including Disqus. I can't replicate a problem with Disqus when blocking is not enabled.
Could you provide me a URL where you are unable to use Disqus when blocking is not enabled so that we could dig deeper into your use case?
As always, we appreciate your feedback! -

There are too many to list, but off the top of my head, Engadget.com was non-functional until I removed Ghostery. What URL are YOU using to get such a positive experience with DIsqus and Ghostery?

Here are a few screen shots showing the new Click 2 Play feature working...
Blocked...
Then showing the allow...

I think we discovered the problem...
Ghostery blocking works in two ways .... element blocking, cookie blocking... Disqus requires a cookie in order for you to log in ...
The Click2 Play feature doesn't unblock both element and cookie.. I am writing the ticket now!
So.. in order for it to work.. in the options page > blocking options > cookie tab > widgets > unblock Disqus and save.
Thank you for your post!! -

Hi,
I have nothing blocked (default ghostery settings) and disqus doesn't work :(
Any ideas? -
-
Hi Jacob...
Are you using Firefox? can you provide an example URL so I can check it out?
Also make sure you are not blocking Disqus on the cookies tab. -
-
Any post on this site http://www.seroundtable.com/google-bi... amongst others.
Nothing is blocked on Disqus (default settings)
Yep Firefox. -

Sure am. It auto updates with FF I believe. This problem has happened for a few versions. In the bottom right I have 0 blocked on that page. (I've never blocked anything in Ghostery)

Hi Jacob,
I am unable to replicate your problem. I am having no problems with Disqus with the current version of Firefox or Ghostery. The only other thing I can think of is there is another add-on that is blocking it.. Do you have any other blocking extensions active? -
-
I have the same thing as well. Ghostery makes Disqus completely unusable in both Safari and Firefox. Disable Ghostery and Disqus works perfect.
-
Hi Dave,
Have you tried telling Ghostery to not block both the Disqus tracker and (in Firefox) the Disqus cookie? -

Firefox 15.01 here and Disqus still not working...
In Ghostery options, Disqus is unselected in everything, even white listed and still not working.
Anyone find a fix ?-
Please provide an example URL. Disqus integrations vary (thus you may find it works just fine on some sites, but gives you trouble on others). Can you be more specific about what you mean by "not working" — Can you see previously-posted comments? Can you log in? etc. Also, tell us which Ghostery version you have.

I'm having issues with Disqus as well. I'm running Chrome 35.0.1916.153, Ghostery 5.3.0, AdBlock Plus 1.8.3, and ScriptBlock 1.0 (so it may be an integration issue). I've whitelisted the site in question (wildhunt.org) and turned off all the plugins, but I continue to get the Disqus "loading" animation (see attached). Any advice?
Thanks!!

It may be scriptblock.. I have Ghostery and AdBlock running and after the Click2Play feature activated the comments load as expected. In your advanced tab.. do you have Click2Play active?
-
-
I do not. My full list of extensions is
Adblock Plus 1.8.3
Allow Right-Click 1.3.5
Ghostery 5.3.0
Google Cast 14.605.0.10 (I feel like they just throw random numbers into their versions just to mess with us)
Greenhouse 1.1
Pin it Button 1.3.2
ScriptBlock 1.0
Stop Autoplay for YouTube 0.11.5.24
WhatFont 2.0.2.
So, I guess really, it could be any of them adversely interacting with Disqus, but I did not note the issue until I installed Ghostery (which is in all other ways awesome, btw). -

Can I also add my 2p to this topic?
I'm using Ghostery and have enabled Disqus (as I like reading comments). I've also whitelisted disqus.com.
However, on DenOfGeek.com the Disqus comments do not appear. :(
When I whitelist the site, the Disqus comments appear.
Example page: http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/mr-holmes/34417/mr-holmes-brand-new-trailer-for-mckellens-sherlock-holmes-film
Anyone able to help? I do use AdBlock+ also but I have Whitelisted DenOfGeek.
Google Chrome 42.0.2311.90 m
Windows 8.1
Thank you!
Chris-
Hey.. so.. I can't replicate this.. Do you have Click-to-play active? I get the blocking message and then press the play button for Disqus.. the page reloads and everything works as expected. Which version of Ghostery are you using?
