Does Ghostery block cookies set by trackers (prevent them from accessing or setting cookies)? Or does it set "opt-out" cookies - allowing trackers to read the cookies and them not tracking the user, provided they respect the opt-out option (similar to what the Firefox Beef Taco extension does)?
Please state what is the case for Ghostery for Opera, Chrome, IE and Firefox; and the differences, if there are any.

3Hi taff,
Ghostery does not set opt-out cookies.
If a tracker is blocked, it can't read or write cookies.
Ghostery for Firefox comes with an additional Cookie Protection feature that marks selected cookie domains read-only. This means new cookies for selected domains can't be set and existing cookies can't be updated. We plan on bringing this to all other browsers.
Does this help?
