Does Ghostery do anything to prevent tracking via fingerprint?

I read an article that implies that the advertising world does not need to leave cookies to track me. They run scripts that read enough info on my machine to uniquely identify my computer,, which the article called a fingerprint, and then have no need to leave cookies. Any idea on how we prevent running those a scripts?
