Firefox 37.0.1 doesn't allow Ghostery to work

Firefox 37.0.1 allows Gostery add-on to install but the icon doesn't show on the taskbar and options cannot be changed from anywhere through: resource://firefox-at-ghostery-dot-com/ghostery/data/options.html
rendering the program totally ineffective as it cannot be setup to block anything. Everything was fine before on the previous Firefox version
