Firefox options general tab blank with Ghostery

Windows 7 (64bit)
Firefox 36.0
Ghostery 5.42

I've discovered a problem while using Ghostery on Firefox 36.0beta (which moves to current version tomorrow), When Firefox options are selected the first tab in options (general) is blank and any changes made previously in the general tab are reverted to default, even though you can't see them.

This problem only occurs with Firefox 36.0
I have tested both versions 5.41 and 5.42 of Ghostery and the problem occurs with both, when Ghostery is deactivated there is no problem.

I would be grateful if someone in the know would investigate this.

Apologies, I didn't see the other thread about this before I posted.

I posted the following in the thread "Options reset almost every time Firefox closes"

Windows 7(64 bit)
Firefox 36.0beta (goes current tomorrow)
Ghostery 5.42

Unfortunately Ghostery 5.4.2 does not solve the problem.

When I opened Firefox options the first time they were displayed correctly, but closing and opening again the problem reoccurred.

Try opening and closing the Firefox options a few times, sometimes it displays correctly sometimes it doesn't.

  Thanks for posting.. In the other thread there is a link to the bugzilla ticket in regards to the options page issue. We are hoping they push a fix for this soon.

Tried a clean Firefox profile as you suggested, but still not working properly.

  Good question. All I know is if I deactivate Ghostery the problem doesn't occur.
  
  From what Pete has said in the post above I gather it's a Firefox problem. It seems as though the same problem may have occurred with other add-ons (see the bugzilla report Pete posted above).

I noticed this after Firefox updated to 36 this morning. It's not the general tab that is blank, but whatever tab you had open last, which comes up first the next time you go to the options. See this Imgur album: https://imgur.com/a/qFuZe

This is a Firefox problem, but has been fixed in Firefox 37.0

If you can't wait for its release on 31/03/2015 you can install the beta now:
