Firefox4.0.1 problems with Ghostery enabled

Some websites will not operate correctly with ghostery enabled. I can't go to say the next page of what I am looking at as an example. If I disable it they seem to work fine. Win7 is the OS. Don't know what else to say or ask. Thanks.

  • Do the problems always occur when Ghostery is enabled, or only when blocking is active?

Please list the specific web site(s) you're having trouble with. If there's a particular page you must navigate to, something you need to type, or somewhere you have to click, be sure to mention that. We usually need to be able to reproduce your issue in order to fully understand what's going on. If you're reporting a visual or cosmetic problem, screen shots help. Think about it this way: If someone came to you seeking your aid, what would you ask them?

Do not post user names, passwords, account numbers, or any sort of personal or confidential information. We may not be able to assist with sites that require authentication (something like Gmail is OK, but you may be on your own with, say, online banking).

If we ask what other extensions you're using, you can find that by opening about:support.

If your problem can be corroborated (most are), the information provided will be used to improve future releases. In many cases we can offer a temporary workaround, although this isn't always possible. Upcoming versions of Ghostery should make greater use of "surrogates," which are kind of the software equivalent of nicotine patches; these should reduce the number of similar complaints.

  • In addition to what Eric says, you should also be able to whitelist a site with Ghostery. Whitelisting will tell Ghostery not to scan the page and allow everything to run as it was intended. If you run into a problematic page that you need to use, whitelist the site and it will work.
