When using Firefox Nightly (2012-05-27), the following warning is visible on the web console:
Use of Mutation Events is deprecated. Use MutationObserver instead. @ chrome://ghostery/content/ghostery.js:396

1Ghostery cannot require the use of any API that isn't supported by the current stable release. (Currently Firefox 12.0)
Ghostery cannot require the use of any API that isn't supported by the current ESR. (Currently Firefox 10.0.4esr)
If Mozilla sticks to their published schedule, Gecko 10.0 remains a lower bound until at least mid-February 2013.
Ghostery should continue to support Gecko 1.9.2: there are still many people using Firefox 3.6.28 because they depend on third party features (accessibility technologies, Java applets, other extensions) that are incompatible with later releases.
Mozilla supposedly "deprecated" Mutation Events a year ago, knowing full well they had no viable replacement. Mutation Observers didn't even make their list of goals until 2011Q4:
...and, as you see, they missed their target.
Don't you think it's rather arrogant they're berating developers to rush this into production, when it hasn't been around long enough to be adequately tested?
N.B. only the performance argument has merit; cross-browser support is irrelevant, since the extension only needs to maintain compatibility with Firefox and SeaMonkey.

Hi glob, thanks for using Ghostery.
I'm aware of this issue and will resolve once the Nightly makes its way into production. -

Eric P. Scott's response to glob's posting seems to say all that needs to be said, and Felix Shnir's information helps, but I am not familiar with the nightly builds or their schedules. I am currently running Firefox 15 on the regular release schedule, but have no idea how that relates to the nightlies for 27th May; however, the Firefox Error Console repeated glob's issue.

Considering Mr Scott's information, I suppose Mr Shnir's aspiration will have problems progressing?
An update would be nice? -
