I've added Ghostery to my arsenal here, but Firefox recommended in the strongest possible terms that I *not* do that.
Considering that my download of Ghostery actually arrived from mozilla.com (home of Firefox), is there any reason I should be concerned or suspicious about either my Ghostery installation or my Firefox integrity?

Really? OK, let's start with:
» Which version of Firefox are you using? Where did you get it?
» Which version of Ghostery are you using?
» What other add-ons [extensions] do you have enabled?
— You can obtain a list by visiting about:support
Please post a screen shot of the "do not install" message, if possible.
Note that add-ons are normally delivered from mozilla.org.

Firefox 4.0.1
Ghostery 2.5.3
Symantec IPS 2.0 (and 5.6 Norton bar), Sun Java (and console), ABP and Ghostery add-ons installed and enabled... dotNET Framework Assistant installed but disabled (Firefox hates it and can't use it)... no others installed.
Unfortunately, I have too many things to do just now, so I can't spare the time for getting rid of Ghostery and reinstalling it... I'll try and remember to do that sometime tonight or tomorrow, and I'll get a screenshot of it if it reappears. -

Hmmm... appears to be a false alarm - the result of me being too tired to read properly, I'll bet.
The warnings were just the standard ones... a warning (I have them enabled) that a site is trying to upload an add-on, and a next one reminding me that I should only install trustworthy stuff.
My bad, apparently. :-\-
Happens to all of us. Enjoy, and let us know how its working out for you! Thanks!
