Flash is Allowed, but site doesn't recognise it!
I've always liked Ghostery - it has an important function: my only problem (may not be from Ghostery) is I no longer can watch cspan.org live stream.
-
Hi There,
Thanks for using ghostery!
If you allow Brightcove the stream works. You can whitelist that one tracker and continue to block the others. -
-
So, I white listed site after unblocking Britecove didn't change problem: Flash continues to tell me to 'update to newest Flash Player.
Any other ideas?
Has this happened to anyone else?
Other sites are "Allowing" and recognizing Flash Player. -

Tell us:
— Which operating system you're using;
— What browser you're using (name and version);
— Which version of Ghostery you have;
— What other browser extensions you have enabled.
Are you using a recent version of Adobe Flash Player?
Current Adobe Flash Player versions for end users are listed here:
Out-of-date versions are dangerous (current ones are slightly less so due to "security by obscurity"). More detailed information is available in the latest Adobe Security Bulletin, which is linked here:

Thanks. Just checked in IE and Flash for streaming not working in more than cspan,org.
So, besides cking active X, I had done one new thing recently: updated Windows 7.
I would like my Updated Nightly to stop repeatedly want to apply same update every hour. -

So, this sounds like neither a Ghostery issue nor a browser issue.
I'm going to suggest completely uninstalling Flash Player.
Grab the installers from the direct download links near the bottom of this page:
Then start reading from the top of that document. -

I did as you said: uninstalled, turned off Anti-virus, re-installed Flash. That didn't work.
So, finally used 'Restore' and now Flash does work in IE in CSPAN live streaming.
Neither Firefox or Nightly has Flash recognized in CSPAN live streaming.
And now Ghostery: enabled, the disabled, then downloaded: will not let me 'set preferences'.-
Did you run both Flash Player installers? install_flash_player_ax.exe is only for IE; install_flash_player.exe is the one you need for Firefox.

yes, I did try both.
No function with either.
After the restore before updates, I returned to both browsers and found IE working. -
