I am geting a freeze using the latest Firefox with Ghostery.
It says something about script not responding and asks to stop the script (the descriptor points at a Ghostery script).
I think this has been an issue for a long time, but new versions of Ghostery do not fix it.
You ask for cpu etc. But this is machine independent, so no point. O/S Linux Ubuntu Lucid.
One site where it always happens is chess.com.
I hope this is adequate to identify the problem.

Hi zaph, thanks for using Ghostery.
Please upgrade to the v2.5.2 branch as it fixes most of the freezing issues. Additionally, if the problem occurs on a given website, you may want to whitelist the site in question.
Lastly, I play on chess.com quiet often, so I know Ghostery works there =), You might however need to whitelist the hosting domain that they use: chesscomfiles.com
Let me know a more specific problem as they occur: for example, paste the script unresponsive message to me (or take a screen shot) -
