As stated, the aforementioned site just won't render properly with Ghostery enabled. I have a bunch of other privacy and ad blocking related add-ons enabled and the about:config settings are all over the place, but I did check with ABP, DNT, NoScript, Disconnect and GM scripts all disabled.
I don't have any other privacy add-ons installed apart from the ones I mentioned. From what I can tell, it is indeed Ghostery that is breaking the site! The only workaround ATM is to whitelist the site, but I don't really want to do that.
Can someone please help?
Fx 27.0b2 fails to render Gizmodo.com.au correctly on Win8.1 (x64) with Ghostery 5.0.6 on default settings.

1Hi Oni Ray,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
If you allow the AllureMedia tracker the page displays. I'll put in a ticket for a possible surrogate script in this case.
Thanks for the heads up! -

1You're not using Ghostery's default settings.
Try unblocking Allure Media for this site only.

Thanks to Pete and Eric for your replies. I've changed Allure Media to "Always allow on Gizmodo.com.au" as a temporary workaround, although that can hardly be the long term solution.
Also happening on Lifehacker.com and yes, Allure Media is once again the one! Just wanted to let you guys know that :-)
Thanks again and a very happy new year to you Eric and to you Pete and the entire Ghostery team. Cheers! :-) -
