last question after install is "enable blocking?"
i choosed "no"
it is too in discrininate.I'm just afraid that www would be unfunctionable if u would supress too many trackers. it would be better if i had opt-in/opt-out choose for those trackers individually, and some "gray" setting (block only most bad) as default. And while i think this can later be changed in setup, it was not told in GetStarted questionnaire. That all-or-nothing choice really frightened me.

Hi ariochthe,
Excellent point. Enabling blocking is followed by picking and choosing what to block. So, please, enable away.
You could, for instance, enable blocking, not block anything to start, and then block trackers as you come across them.
Ghostery for Firefox comes with an improved, category-based tracker browser. This new options interface is on the way for Ghostery for Opera. -

yes, but when user just goes through that questionair he just does not know it yet.
so the comment was about the site, not about extension itself -

Oh, oops, you weren't talking about the walkthrough/setup wizard. My mistake.

mmm... i think i was exactly about that wizard and its last question
what part of website is opened insantly after extension installing ? i mean it was it.
But the last question was formulated in a bit frightening way.
Out of line, such a duplication of lines, is it intentional or no ?
It looks just like memory leak and if intentional then probably is poor GUI design

If Ghostery finds multiple source URLs for the same tracker, it will report them, even if the sources are all the same.
We do plan on reworking the way source URLs are shown in the future.- view 2 more comments

if i have couple dozens pages open - who can say which is the one ?
I suspect it to be cumulative effect of all the pages and maybe also all the other extensions as well -

The one you are in the middle of loading at the time of the freeze/slowdown, right? If you can reproduce after a reload, you found a good example.

As for the "Enable blocking" checkbox, we plan on getting rid of it in a future update. To see the newer Ghostery options/walkthrough UI, try Ghostery for Firefox.
