Ghostery not using one third of screen to the right for iPad2 running iOS8

Using iPad2 with iOS8. Even after latest fix, the landscape mode of Ghostery is cutting off one third of the screen to the right. Full page displays, just not using all available screen space.

Thanks for the latest fix, as it does address the crashes when accessing toolbar at the top!

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for using Ghostery!

Can you send me a screenshot of what you are referring to? And a URL you see it happening on?

    Thanks for the heads up!

  • Greetings.

Running iOS 8.1.3 on iPad2. I have used another device to take a picture of the screen, attached here

No matter what web site I am on, toolbar stretches across full screen, but content only extends to a portion of the screen. Even worse in portrait mode. If I try to zoom in using fingertips, content never extends beyond the white barrier.

I tried deinstalling and reinstalling Ghostery. This seemed to fix the issue. Then after blocking a bunch of trackers and pressing "Done" in Ghostery, I received a message that I would have to restart the application to unload the programs. After I did that, I was back to the cut screen, even after a reboot.

I love your product, and have been using it for the past month. No issues in the beginning, but two updates ago, this issue started, along with the crashing toolbar. I figured you would issue a new patch, which you did, and it fixed the toolbar, but not the layout issue.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do.

    Thanks!
    Andrew

    ok.. I see it!

I have created a ticket to get this worked on.. for now.. the fix is:

close the app (double-tap home button, swipe up ghostery). Opening the app again will fix it, until it happens again. then repeat first step.

    Hi Pete.

Thanks for the quick response. Just wanted to let you know that the workaround doesn't work for my tablet. However, I did find one that works. If I open a new tab, I get the Ghostery search page with a full screen. Any new page I open maintains the full screen format. I then kill the old tab, and all is well, no matter how many new web sites I visit, or new tabs I open.

However, if I then use the workaround you suggested to blast Ghostery out of memory, when I reopen Ghostery, the issue is back. Then I repeat the same open new tab, kill old tab as a workaround. So far, I am unable to get Ghostery to start clean without the truncated real estate.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

    Andrew
