Ghostery not working in newest Firefox update

I recently updated to the newest version of the Firfox browser for windows 7 and Ghostery stopped working. When I try to update Ghostery or re-download it. I get the error message of"Ghostery cannot be installed because Firefox cannot access the necessary file"
I have tried reinstalling Firefox, but get the same message. How can I fix this issue?
