Ghostery stopped working on Aurora and Firefox for Android
Ghostery just broke on Firefox Aurora (39). Options page completely inaccessible. Also still doesn't seem to work on Firefox for Android, or at least the beta of it. Actually, it's almost never worked for the last couple years.

Correction: it's also broken on Firefox beta (38), desktop.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your response. If so, I apologize in advance. That said:
I think you misunderstand the purpose of the Firefox beta: it's for both users and developers to test against the changes that almost certainly *will* appear in the next release.
So I'm letting you know *now* that your product no longer works after Firefox 37 (GA today) and probably won't work in the final release of 38, either.
If there's an unwarranted change in 38 that you believe should be postponed or rolled back completely, it's time to go let the Firefox developers know they've just broken your extension.
You now have < 6wks and counting before 38 GA.
I"m not seeing issues in FFX 37 with Ghostery 5.4.3 (Can you try a new FFX profile to see if your issues persist?)
Firefox Nightly (40.0a1 (2015-04-01)) - Panel drop down is broken and the options menu is blank.
FirefoxAurora (38.0a2 (2015-03-30)) - Panel drop down isn't working, but the options menu does display from Tools > Ghostery > Manage Ghostery's Options.
Past 37--38b1, 38 Aurora, 39 Aurora--the pop-up from the add-on area appears and the "sliders" (toggles) next to the trackers appear to work (move), but have no effect. Closing and re-opening the menu, reloading the page, etc. sets the sliders back to their original positions. The handy click-to-reload link you put in the pop-up some time ago also does nothing. Pressing the gear (options) button does nothing and goes nowhere.
With no way to un-break several pages where Ghostery doesn't have (working?) surrogates, I had to disable it for now. If you'd like, I can re-enable to test and see whether it's still possible to get to the Options page via the menu. I also have Extension Options Menu installed, which is what I would have tried if I hadn't been in a real hurry just then.
I don't have the *actual* nightlies installed (just Aurora 39 and 38b1), but I applaud you for testing against them. Thank you!
If you have any homework for me re: betas or Aurora, I'm happy to help. If absolutely necessary, I can pull down the actual trunk nightlies (Firefox 40, https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o... ) and test with those as well.
Or, even shorter: works with the latest stable release. Breaks on the first beta and everything after.
Totally appreciate your feedback.. I have sent this info to dev to be sure these issues are resolved.
Since Mozilla don't offer RSS or Atom feeds on AMO, have you guys considered putting releases on your blog, which does offer syndication? Or do you have a release / development blog somewhere that I don't know about?
Otherwise, the first I know there's a new build of Ghostery is when it's marked stable on AMO... unless I'm desperately hoping for a new release of some addon and checking every couple of days.
(Alternately, some developers get around Mozilla's idiotic decisions re: AMO and Firefox' addon update checker having "stable" vs. "unstable" channels by re-uploading their betas or RCs as "final" and attaching a changelog saying, effectively, "identical to 2.3.4beta".)
Thanks for the updates/feedback.
We are doing a new version of our site where I have asked we have the ability to host the beta builds as you suggested.
Please keep me posted if anything gets screwy.
Thanks again!
