Ghostery will not work at all on IE 11 64. It shows it installed as an add on but nothing is appearing in the tool bars. How do I get it to appear?
I searched the forums but there didn't seem to be a response on this. This is my first time installing it on Internet Explorer which I seldom use.

Hi Charles,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Can you try logging in as Administrator and see if you experience the same issues? -
-
Yes same problem as an Administrator. At first, I did attempt to install it on the standard account (as you can with FFox adons) but when it wouldn't take I tried it on the administrator. It is supposed to appear in the commands bar correct? I have that fully extended and no icon. My hosts file is locked. Does that affect anything? I just re-downloaded it from here https://www.ghostery.com/en/download and removed it and reinstalled it but no luck.

ok thanks. I'll pass this info on.

Hey There,
can you please check to be sure Ghostery is enabled? You can follow these steps to confirm:
Tools > Manage Add-Ons > in this list make sure Ghostery is 1) in the list and visible 2) it's enabled.
Let me know -
-
Yes it is enabled. I tried disabling it and re-enabling it and nothing appeared to change. Windows Live ID sign in helper, Java and Java Plug-In 2 SSV Helper are disabled

Hi Pete,
I'm experiencing the same problem:
Win7 Home Premium SP1 (64 bit OS) All Windows Updates Applied.
IE 11 (Version: 11.0.960.17633 - Update Versions: 11.0.16 KB3021952)
It's all looks to be installed ok, but not Blocking anything. It's not "Paused" and I've run through the Wizard to Unset everything, then Reset everything. Still no look. Performed a Clean Uninstall & Reinstall of Ghostery, and still not working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.-
email me at pete@ghostery.com. I'd like to send you the beta we have to see if it solves this issue.

Ok a serious "duh" moment here. Sorry I was busy and preoccupied and hadn't thought of this. You have to go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Scroll down to browsing heading and make sure "enable third party browser extensions" is selected then restart computer (or log out and log back in). Might as well uninstall and reinstall Ghostery then restart computer. Then you go to addons and make sure Ghostery is enabled.
Icon does not appear on the command bar so if you don't use the command bar you can ditch it. The icon appears nicely on the location bar between the refresh button and a separator next to the home button. Although, the icon is too large and expands the bar too much.
Both versions of Ghostery now work, however, I found a couple bugs. On the older version the wizard crashes after clicking on the arrow. On the beta 4.0.1 the tracker list (Advertising, Analytics, Beacons, etc.) does not appear until you go through the wizard and select all of them. Update appears to fail at times when "Enable tracker library auto-updating" is not selected.
Last, but certainly not least, there's no option in Advanced settings to revert to the old panel. [ie. "Not ready for the new panel? Revert to the old menu temporarily (restart required)]" The new panel takes up too much space and hides the options (annoying facebook/google style) behind a gear icon requiring an extra click. Not everyone's mind works better with pictures and logos for finding or remembering things. I prefer words. Efficiency guys. -

Thanks for the update!
We don't have the old panel in any other version but Firefox since they didn't have it to start with. The old panel can't support many of the new features that we have introduced. -

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Ghostery 4 for IE crashes IE..
Downloaded 3/8/15 and installed and the Ghost Icon appeared but the only way I could get IE to finish loading was to do so in InPrivate Browsing mode. I had to uninstall Ghostery. It was very difficult to close IE. IE seemed to be in a loop checking to see what was wrong and when the box asking to close all tabs or current tab came up it would go immediately to the checking for errors window. After about a dozen attempts I was able to close IE.
I love Ghostery and hope you have an idea how to fix my problem. -

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled internet explorer 11 loses focus since I installed Ghostery.
Since I installed Ghostery any web page I am on I have to click the left mouse button every couple of seconds to be able to scroll down the page -

Ghostery installed ok on my system, the icon is at the top right and if I click on it it shows me the Trackers for that site, it also shows the purple box at the bottom right when I load a new web page.
But since I installed it IE seems to lose focus, as if I clicked outside of IE
I have to left click every couple of seconds inside the web page to be able to scroll up or down the page
My system is
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Service Pack 1 -

Ghostery is now crashing IE. I've tried fresh installs, latest download, updated IE. Anyone solve this problem?

I don't know what to look for.. can you give me the first few characters of the email address and then I'll delete it from this post?

I'm having some similar problem, in what I assume is "intermittent blocking", such as when on YouTube and other video-playing sites. I also try clicking the Ghostery icon > Settings > Options, but no-go. IE address shows as "res://ghostery64.dll" but IE tries for a few seconds before dropping it.
Odd thing is, I did actually get to the options page once, after installing; just cannot get back to it.
(Oh, and by the way, I love Ghostery as I see it; I do very much prefer the gear icon to a line of text; just sayin'...)-
email me at pete@ghostery.com.. I have a build that might do the trick.
