Ghostery 2.1.2 breaks Gmail; uses 100% CPU on FF 3.6.3 w/OSX/Mac
Ghostery in FF 3.6.3 on my 13" Macbook Pro (Snow Leopard 10.6.3) recently made Gmail use 100% of CPU and load painfully slowly. Disabling all of Googles web bugs had no effect; only disabling Ghostery (have adblocking and other addons loaded, but only Ghostery removed will fix this problem). My question then is: know about it? Got a fix in the works?

Hi Mojojo,
Please let me know what version of Ghostery you're using. If it's not v.2.1.2, please install the latest version and test your gmail which should work well. Please let me know if the issue persists. -

I'm using v2.1.2. It's in the title to this complaint, guys...

mojojojo, thanks for using Ghostery.
We've had troubles replicating the issue you are having, however, pre-release of Ghostery v2.2 is ready and it fixes a number of performance related issues that could be affecting you. It also comes with a domain whitelisting feature that should help you out. If you wish to test the release, please email me at felix@betteradvertising.com and I'll send you a copy. -

Hi Felix,
After seeing the message from Rose, disabled and removed 2.1.2 from my machine, then reinstalled it, restarted Firefox. Same thing, Gmail is intolerably slow. I do hope another Mac user can corroborate this sometime.
Since this is also the only problem I've had since Ghostery has been in FF's Addons (user since before you changed the logo), I'll try 2.2. Thanks, I'll email you in a moment. -

Felix,
2.2 beta has solved my issue with both Gmail and Facebook (both were added on with the new whitelist feature).
Thanks for the prompt response! -
