Ghostery blocking Google Chrome's Sync

Hi, i was trying to get Google Chromes sync working between my desktop Chrome and Android Chrome Beta, but it just refused to sync between my desktop and my phone. At first it might just be because Android Chrome is in Beta.

So after some twiddling, I tried turning off Adblock, Adblock plus, and Ghostery, and Chrome started syncing correctly to my Android Chrome beta on my phone.

I then switched back on Adblock, and Adblock plus, and sync is still working, its only if I switch Ghostery back on on my Desktop Version of Chrome that sync stops working. Has anyone else had the same problem, and could anyone advise me which filters/options do i have to switch off to have ghostery blocking as much as possible, but still let Google Chrome sync.

Cheers

  • Hi codlike,

Could you see what Ghostery reports as blocked during Sync?

    To view Ghostery's debug information:

    1. Go to chrome://extensions/
    2. Click on "developer mode"
    3. Expand Ghostery's row (if collapsed)
    4. Click on Ghostery's background.html link
    5. Select the Console tab in the window that comes up
    6. Type "localStorage.debug = true" (without the quotes) into the console, and press Enter.
    7. Try to trigger Sync, or just wait for it to happen (while refraining from using this browser to not clutter Ghostery's debug output).
