Ghostery blocks website functionality, e.g.:
http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeigen...
Can't use several functions such as sign up, view different images of an offered item and so on.

Ghostery blocking website functionality on ebay (Criteo, Google Analytics)

1This appears to be similar to the problem described in http://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery/t...
They're placing an onload handler on http://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js and deferring loading essential page elements until that completes successfully (which is never, if you block the script). A surrogate doesn't help here. You have to unblock Google Analytics (unless a future version of Ghostery learns how to detect this situation and resolve it somehow).

Eric P. Scott January 11, 2012 20:12That's a good question to pose to each of the major browser vendors. They might be able to extend their APIs to provide for efficient detection/mitigation (not to mention cleaner surrogate injection).EditDeleteRemove

Pooch January 12, 2012 19:02*scratches behind the ear* not sure if we'll be able to bring such a change about, but definitely a worthy cause. We'll woof at the browser makers to see what drops. Thanks!EditDeleteRemove
