Ghostery can't update on Internet Explorer 9

Using IE9, Ghostery hangs the browser when updating and requires closing IE9 to update. Closing the browser does not get recognized and the window repeatedly asks to Close IE. I must eventually close the update window and cancel the update in order to continue. I don't have this problem on Firefox. Must I uninstall Ghostery and not use it on Internet Explorer?
