2Engadget rigged their site so if you touch Advertising.com, Livefyre, or Omniture (Adobe Analytics), they punish you by holding the content hostage. Definitely on Santa's "naughty list" this year...

Good to know I'm not the only one trying to weed this out from time to time (when I'm using a browser with ghostery as opposed to a tablet's default no extension browser).
It is sad that when you try to decrease page load and increase privacy a little; you often stumble on some big name sites.
FWIIW still the same issue today
