Ghostery does not start properly
On my firefox linux install ghostery does not start up although installed. I always have to go to the add-ons dialog and do a "disable" - "enable" sequence to have ghostery working. Tried to reinstall serveral times, does not help

Hi Eduardo,
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Which version of everything are you using? -
-
My System:
Ubuntu 14.04 - Desktop,AMD64
Kernel 3.13.0-29-generic
Firefox 30.0+build1-0ubuntu0.14.04.3
Ghostery 5.3.1
Something within my firefox profile appears to trigger the bug. If I create a new firefox profile ghostery works as expected. But I have to use my existing profile since it contains all bookmarks and other preferences which would be lost when I use a new profile.
The problem happened already some (ghostery and firefox) versions ago. I hoped that it would cure itself but it didn't.-
There's a Firefox support article that explains how to copy bookmarks to a new profile.
Look for non-default Firefox preferences in prefs.js files in each profile folder — since they're just text, it's easy to copy and paste between them.
You may need to install the "sqlite3" package if you want to poke around inside Firefox's databases.
