For the last week or so, whenever I open my browser (Firefox), I now get the following message:
"
File not found
Firefox can't find the file at chrome://ghostery/content/first-run/index.html.
"
The ghostery icon still appears, but it does not anymore find any trackers.
I reinstalled the addon from your site, but no change...
How can I fix this? (running MS VISTA with Firefox 9.01)

Hi purple, thanks for using Ghostery.
What other addons do you have installed? Have you tried disabling all of them and leaving Ghsotery enabled to see if its a collision issue with another addon? -

Have the same prob, WIN7HP64 Firefox 9.01. after disabling all addons, problem still the same. Any ideas?

After a 2-3 Firefox restarts, the "file not found, etc." problem mysteriously disappeared (this happened before I saw Pooch's suggestion to disable all other addons). But there now is another problem--the browser apparently is reinstalling/updating Ghostery every time it starts up. But this is not limited to Ghostery, at least one other extension appears to be doing the same (colorful tabs). Disabling all other addons did not affect these new symptoms.

This secondary issue is not actually a "re-installation", but just FF reloading new installation info/options/setup pages every time it starts. Just like the problem discussed here: http://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery/t...

Hi purple, have you tried the suggestion about creating a new profile to see if the issue persists in it?

Thanks Pooch, but right now I don't have time to learn about FF profiles. Maybe later in the week. Sorry.
