The link/site for installing Ghostery after downloading is not active. It has been down since Thursday 6:00pm CST.
Please advise.

Hi Wallace,
The official download pages for Ghostery for Safari are:
Both should point to the same file.
Are you still having trouble downloading? -
-
It downloads without any problem; the link to obtain the download is working.
The issue is when you open the downloaded file and select Open, then Install, it takes you to a blank webpage and there isn't the configuration walkthrough to setup/install Ghostery. -
-
Hi Wallace,
Ah, I see. I don't know what causes this problem, so I'm going to ask some questions to help me figure it out.
Which version of Safari do you have, and what other extensions do you have installed?
Do you have JavaScript enabled in Safari's Preferences' Security tab?
Did you get a new button in the toolbar after installing Ghostery?
After instaling Ghostery and getting the blank page, could you go to Safari's Preferences, click on the Advanced tab, mark "Show Develop menu in menu bar", then go back to the blank page that Ghostery opened and click "Show Error Console" in Safari's Develop menu? Could you take a screenshot of the window and attach it here? -

5.0.5

That's the problem, I'm not able to Install it.

I can't seem to attach a screenshot here, there are not any Errors, Warnings or Logs shown at the bottom of the screen. -

This is from the Scripts tab
var selected_app_ids = {};
function getSelectedAppIDs(app_ids, selected_app_ids) {
// create a local instance of selected_app_ids from saved selected_app_ids, throwing away nonexistent IDs
var ids = {}, id;
for (id in selected_app_ids) {
if (selected_app_ids.hasOwnProperty(id) && app_ids.hasOwnProperty(id)) {
ids[id] = 1;
} -

Now the little Ghost is displayed in the toolbar. When I click on it I'm not able to configure Ghostery.
-
Wallace, could you open a new page, and navigate somewhere, like nytimes.com, then open Error Console on that page as described above, click Ghostery's button and let me know what the error console has in it?

I see the above logo plus the info:

I do not see the Intro box, the Get Started or Skip Wizard buttons.
In the web address box it does say the same thing: Go to this address -

Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “safari-extension://com.betteradvertising.ghostery-HPY23A294X/491b9494/walkthrough.html” because the page’s address isn’t valid. -

What happens when you open a new page, and navigate somewhere, like nytimes.com, then open Error Console on that page as described above, and click Ghostery's button? What does the console show?

Thanks, Wallace, and sorry for the trouble. I'll write as soon as we find something.
-
-
Also, do you have any toolbars installed, such as Conduit or RoadRunner?
-
-
-
-
Could you try another thing please?
Could you install AdBlock from http://extensions.apple.com/ and see if it works for you, or if it breaks in a similar way to Ghostery?
You should get a walkthrough page from AdBlock right after installing it. -
-
Wallace,
This seems promising: http://code.google.com/p/adblockforch...
Try going to Safari Preferences' Security tab, unchecking JavaScript, rechecking it and finally reinstalling Ghostery. -
