Hi, I want to report some issues with Ghostery on Firefox 22. The problem is this:
The about:home page takes a very long time (a couple minutes) to be usable, I mean, it hangs when I open it, and every site that have to load the jQuery API (whichever version) just hangs for minutes until I can use it. In fact those sites doesn't just hang themselves but they hang the browser so I can't do nothing but wait until it works again. This is quite annoying and I'm sure Ghostery is the root of this problem because I tested disabling every add-on and only when I disabled Ghostery the problem disappeared. I have everything blocked except the following:
Beacons:
Google JSAPI Stats Collection
Media Optimizer (Adobe)
Omniture (Adobe analytics)
Widgets:
Google AJAX Search API
Google Custom Search Engine
I wasn't having this problem before version 5.0.0
My system is the following:
Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux) 32bits using Mozilla Firefox 22
Ghostery hanging Firefox 22 on Ubuntu when trying to load jQuery.

Hi Reaper, thanks for reporting this issue.
How is your home page configured? Could you take a screen shot and let us check it out? Thanks! -

Also, 2.9.6 is the current stable version. For users having issues with 5, we recommend reverting here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/addo...

Hi, thanks for answering, here I attach a pair of images. I tried disabling blocking of all the blockable elements in the ghostery setup because I thought that maybe something being blocked was interfering with my about:home page, but it didn't work so it's the add-on itself the root of the problem.
I'll try the 2.9.6 version and then I'll report back. -
