Ghostery icon has gone missing in Firefox 16.0.2
Firefox 16.0.2. Ghostery icon has gone missing from task bar. Drop-down menu is now gone and only the pop-up with names of tracking software is showing up after installing Acrobat XI along with LastPass. How do I get the drop-down menu back??????

Greetings!
Thanks for using Ghostery!
Whats seems to work for most is to go into your Ghostery options menu (Tools > add-ons> Ghostery > preferences). Click the Advanced tab and either check or uncheck the option that says "Show Ghostery Button in Navigation Bar". Click save.. reload browser and then go back into the options menu and check the same the option so that is active. Save and reload browser again. Ghosty should be back in nav bar.
Out of curiosity, did you do any update to the toolbars? I have had a few other users experience the same issue recently. -

Pete,
Just for anyone else looking for a fix. I'm not sure where tools is but under the Firefox tab there is Add-ons on the right column.
Firefox 16.0.2 directions. Click orange Firefox tab > click Ad-ons > All of my add-ons are listed > click options button under Ghostery > click Advanced tab > click / unclick "Show Ghostery Button in Navigation Bar" >click save > reload browser >> go back and click and save "Show Ghostery Button in Navigation Bar" > click save > reload browser.
This did not work the first time so I did it again and unchecked and checked the "Show Ghosterey in Add-On Bar" along with the "Show Ghostery Button in Vavigation Bar" and it worked.
I have had LastPass along with Ghostery for several months now. I just installed Adobe Acrobat XI and thats when Ghostery disappeared.
Great Program by the way. -

My ghostery icon also disappeared and in the advanced options tab there is no option to show or not show the ghostery icon. Updating should not do this to a favorite program. I think the trackers are trying to fight back or something. I'm getting way too many trackers let through ghostery and I can do nothing about it because the icon is missing and I am given no option to put it back. Can you suggest anything? Nothing I have previously read on this website applies as the option to show it is missing.

Thanks Eric P. Scott. I tried that and Firefox 16.0.2 is refusing to let me download it. It only stops and says..."There was a download error" and there is an option to "try again" eternally. Any other suggestions? Aha...it also says there is a connection error on Firefox Add Ons.

Finally I restarted my laptop and it worked. Thanks Eric P. Scott! :)
