I’m mad

Ghostery is screwed up

Something is screwed up and I'm really pissed at ghostery for messing up my web experience by blocking review forms of websites like vitacost.com and the like. I am unable to read product reviews and unable to disable your stupid ghostery.

    Hi Nick,

    Thanks for using Ghostsery!

If you allow BazaarVoice all the product reviews should work. I'm seeing a click to play replacement (image).. are you not seeing that? Which browser and version of Ghostery are you using?

  • First of all, Ghostery doesn't block anything unless you tell it to. Bazaarvoice is a third-party service capable of tracking your activity across multiple unrelated websites, which is why it's intended to be blockable in the first place. Unfortunately, Vitacost uses domain aliasing that subverts Ghostery's blocking, so you're still getting tracked when you visit their product pages. Someone will have to analyze the Ghostrank data to determine the extent of this issue, and evaluate its impact.

If blocking Bazaarvoice doesn't demonstrably break anything (the reviews not appearing doesn't qualify), a compatibility warning wouldn't be appropriate. (Sites that currently trigger one are homedepot.com, lowes.com, riogrande.com, and wegmans.com.)

You probably want to add a site-specific unblock, which you can do from the panel:

Then things should work the way you expect.
